Addison's first movie
We took the girl's to see the Princess and the Frog this weekend. It was a really cute movie with a really good story. It was Addison's first movie in a theatre and I have to say, she did really well. She asked to go potty twice. The first time I made the mistake of trying to carry her down the stairs instead of letting her walk by herself. Big mistake! However, the nice thing about a kid's movie is she was not the only one who cried. Although, I think the other kids were crying over the scary parts. Addison did bury her head in my chest for the scary parts, but didn't get upset about them. After the movie I asked her if she liked it and she said... no, it was to loud. But later in the day she said she liked it. Regan loved it, of course. We are already talking about buying it when it comes out on dvd.
Santa Claus

We took pictures with Santa at the Christmas Tea. I think it's going to be my Christmas Card picture. It is almost impossible to get a picture of both girls smiling these days. By the time I get Addison to look at the camera and open her eyes, Regan is tired of waiting. So, this is as good as it gets. I was proud of Addison for not crying. However, we were walking back to the table and she stopped dead in her tracks and said.... He didn't give us our presents! That may have been the only reason that she didn't cry.
Addison's Birthday
We celebrated Addison's birthday when we got back tonight. In honor of Addison's birthday, Regan wore her matching Dora pajamas. Regan also picked out Addison's birthday present, and I don't think it was an accident that she picked out the Dora super babies (Dora has fraternal twins that are her siblings) to give Addison. She immediately started talking about which one would be her's after Addison opened her present. Luckily Addison was pretty willing to share as long as she got the pink baby. Addison had to rock her "baby sister" before going to bed and then slept with her.
Christmas Tea
We went to our annual Christmas Tea Party today. This year was Addison's first year and it happened to fall on her actual birthday. The girl's had fun! Addison wasn't to sure about Rudolph, but other than that she was fine. She even took a picture with Santa and didn't cry. When we were walking back to the table she stopped and said.... he didn't give us our presents! So, I think that may have been the only reason she didn't cry.

We decorated our tree tonight and we only broke three ornaments. Everytime Addison put an ornament on the tree and didn't break one she would get very excited and say... I put an ornament on the tree and it didn't break! We also listened to Christmas music, drank hot chocolate and ate chocolate chip cookies. Addison declared that she loved Christmas, so I think it was a successful evening. So successful, that it was a little harder than normal to get Regan to go to sleep.
Thanksgiving
We had a very nice Thanksgiving in Florida. We stopped at my grandparents in Pensacola on the way to and from my Aunt's house. They have an indoor pool and the kids had a blast swimming in it. Both of my kid's are water babies and don't really like or understand that they can't swim for fun in the winter. This was a real treat for them. We had a mostly relaxing weekend. We did a little shopping had some Turkey and did a little more shopping. We also took the girl's to a great park by my Aunt's house. And my Aunt and her husband took the girl's goofy golfing while Matt and I went out to lunch. I think they had fun goofy golfing and they got to see just how much Addison likes to do things for herself. Apparently, Dick tried to help her hit her ball and she walked over and got it out of the hole and told him that she would do it herself. They also had trouble with the doors on my car, but luckily Regan was there to save the day.

Addison's Thanksgiving Feast

Addison's school had their Thanksgiving "feast" on Friday. They put the two 2 1/2 classes together and had a feast that consisted of McDonld's Chicken nuggets, fries, fruit and dessert. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera but my friend Anjo was able to get a few pictures. The kids were really cute in their pilgrim hats.

Acolyte
Regan was an acolyte at chapel today. All of the kindergartner's get a turn and this was her Wednesday. I was a little concerned, because apparently whoever gets to school first gets to pick what they want. Well, you know that she wanted the cross with the jewels on it. The only problem was, the other little girl who was acolyting with her is the daughter of a teacher. Regan is always one of the first to be dropped off, but we can't get there before the teacher's. Which, as a side note, she sometimes waits with her mom in carpool line so that she can walk in with Regan. I'll have to ask Regan, but I guess the other little girl wanted the flag. So it all worked out.
Houston Weekend
We went to Houston this weekend so that Regan and I could see Mary Poppins. I wanted to see it when we were in New York, but I thought it was a little much to do two broadway shows in one trip. You can imagine my excitement when I found out it was coming to Houston. And I was ecstatic when I found out that Broadway is finally coming back to New Orleans.
Matt took Addison to the Aquarium that was right next door to the play. He said it wasn't very good fishwise, but they had other things to do. They rode the ferris wheel once (which I thought was crazy, but apparently Addison really liked it) and the carousel (or merry go round as Addison calls it) five times.
The show was really good. I think that they make them a little long for kids and it stresses Regan out a little that they change it from the movie, but it was really well done. She was particularly impressed with the step in time number, because Bert walks up the wall and onto the ceiling.
After the show we went back to the hotel. Our hotel had a complimentary shuttle service to anywhere in a three mile radius, so we took that to the Galleria. We had a little dinner and did a little shopping and then called it a night. On Sunday morning we found a little cafe and ate breakfast outside and then drove home. It was a really nice weekend.
Muffin
So, Addison has decided that she is going to be a muffin when she grows up. This was an exchange between Addison and Regan about her becoming a muffin.
Addison: I'm going to be a muffin when I grow up.
Regan: I'm going to eat you.
Addison: I'm going to eat myself.
Addison: I'm going to be a muffin when I grow up.
Regan: I'm going to eat you.

Bones
Apparently, they are studying bones in science because Regan rubbed on her jaw bone the other day and told me that she learned in science that it was the Mandible. I didn't know that it was called that, so I looked it up on the internet. Thank goodness for the internet is all I have to say. Then tonight Regan was showing me the thigh bone and Addison pops up with this is the top of your head (pointing to the top of her head) it's called the cranium. I was, of course, amazed. I asked her where she learned that, thinking that it would be Dora (that's where she gets a lot of her information) but she told me that Ms. Marcy told them in music class.

Global Wildlife
On Sunday we took the kid's to Global Wildlife. It is a very cool place. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of telling Regan not to feed the Zebras because they bite and then she didn't want to feed any of the animals. I finally talked her into it after we had passed all of the really good animals. Oh well! Next time!

Halloween
Matt and I ran in a half marathon on Saturday morning. Then we went over to the North Shore and trick or treated with the Phil Manning's. It was a lot of fun! The girl's were very happy to see their Granny and their cousin's. And I would just like to say that nothing comes between Addison and her candy. She is not scared of men, strangers, or dog's when it comes to candy. Halloween is definitely her favorite holiday!
