Regan's Program

Regan had an end of year program today and it was adorable! I have some video that I will post later.

Birthday Party

We went to a bowling party last weekend. Regan really liked playing the games.... especially when she won tickets. Addison seemed to like bowling.

May Day

I know it has been a while since I've updated my blog. I'm sorry. It's the end of the school year... which means busy, busy, busy.

Regan had May Day at school last Friday. They have lots of activities for the kids. Addison was able to go and hang out with my mom while I volunteered. Thus there aren't very many pictures. But the girls both had a good time.

Pledge of Allegiance

As soon as you say they won't do it, they do. Be sure to turn up the volume, because Addison does not talk very loud.

Baby Genius?

We just discovered that Addison knows the pledge of allegiance. Regan was talking about Barrack Obama and how he lives in the White House to Matt by the computer. Addison comes into the kitchen and tells me that Barrack Obama lives in the White House. I told her that Barrack Obama is the President of the United States. She said "The United States of America?" Now I thought that was impressive, but I thought I would take it a step further and ask her if she knew the pledge of allegiance. I started it for her by telling her the first line of "I pledge allegiance..." and she did the rest. I know I am biased, but I think that is very impressive for a 2 year old. I'm not sure if they say it at her school. I know she hears it once a week at chapel, but other than that I'm not sure. I will try to get it on video, but she rarely wants to perform for the video camera.... unlike her sister who is all to happy to perform for any kind of camera.

Park

We took the kids to the park today. There were lots of little ducklings. It must be the time of year when all of the ducklings are born. I have never seen so many. So fun!

The mama duck's were being very protective of their little ducklings. This one squawked at me. I told the girls that she was telling us to back off. Regan said "Mommy, how do you know that?" I told her it was the universal mommy language.

Regan after the festival

I can't remember the last time she fell asleep during the day. She was watching Little Mermaid and conked out. I'm sure this means she won't be able to fall asleep tonight, but I don't have the heart to wake her.

Festival International (Courir du Festival 2009)

We took the kid's to Festival International today. It is very similar to Jazz Fest, but it is in downtown Lafayette. Matt ran in the race and we met up with him afterwards and had breakfast and then walked around and enjoyed the festival. We were mainly in the kid's area, which was a lot of fun for the kid's. We were about to walk around and enjoy other parts of the festival, but the kid's had had enough. It was really nice weather, so it was a really nice family day.

Birthday Party

I had to take a picture of this little boy, because he was so cute. He's the little boy of a friend of mine and they are from Scotland. She said he wanted to wear his kilt because she had on a dress and they were going to a party. Regan is in the background trying to get into the picture, of course.

I took the girl's to one of Regan's friend's birthday parties yesterday. Our favorite music teacher, Mrs. Stevenson, performed. The girl's had a really good time. We were the last to leave, and they still weren't ready to go. Luckily I am very good friend's with the mom, so it's okay that we were one of the last to leave.

Matt's Company Crawfish Boil

Don't I look thrilled to be giving her a red popcycle?

The only kind of balloon that Addison likes.... one without a string. For some reason when they have a string she doesn't like them. She tells me to take the "stick" off.

She was running towards me and when she saw me pointing the camera at her, she stopped and posed.

Easter Part 6 (The Finale)

When I went to take this picture Addison's friend Emory was sitting at the table and they were all eating quietly (Addison and Emory take their eating very seriously. So much so that my friend took them to lunch at McAllister's by herself, and I really don't think she had any problems), but as soon as I got the camera ready Emory popped up to get more food (like I said, he takes his food seriously).

I do not like Oranges, Mommy.

Matt may finally have his athlete.

I often joke that Chapin is going to come live at our house and Regan is going to go live at his house. Chapin LOVES baseball. And the all capital love does not do it justice. If Matt could send a fax to God of his ideal child, Chapin would be it. (He might deny this, because he wouldn't want to hurt our children's feelings. But trust me, it is true) His mom is very crafty and takes pity on me from time to time with Regan. Chapin would play baseball all day and Regan would do crafty things all day.

Easter Part 5 (aka Easter Morning)

Matt said that it looked like Santa. If only Santa were this frugal. Although, he may be more frugal this year. There is a recession going on (I don't know if you heard). I'm pretty sure it has hit the North Pole by now.

It is ironic to me that Addison is the only one smiling in this picture, given her extreme dislike of the Easter Bunny. Let it not be said that my kids don't know what to do when they see a camera pointed their way.

Regan's favorite present from the Easter Bunny.

hmmm... this looks interesting.

The only thing that Addison really cared about from the Easter Bunny.... suckers!

Easter Part 4 (aka Egg Dying)

Me in the clothes that I live in (pajamas). I have two other sets in different prints. They're awesome!
