We stayed with the Phil Manning's this weekend and it was a weekend of fun, fun, fun! As you can see, the kids were worn out by the end. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera. But fortunately for me, Georgina got some great shots. On Saturday we took them to the Insectarium downtown. And since the insectarium is small, we were already downtown and we have a membership... we decided to go to the Aquarium, too. None of us had ever been to the insectarium before. I know I am a good mom, because I hate bugs and I still took my kids. Regan likes bugs (I'm not sure who's child she is) and even pet a beetle while we were there. They have a butterfly room, which was really cool. They give you strict instructions not to touch the butterflies, but Addison was dying to touch one. Fortunately, I was able to keep her from touching them. Apparently it is a federal offense. I don't want her to have a record before she is two.

On Sunday we took the kids to the Global Wildlife Center. My kid's have never been, but Phil's kids are old hat. Reid was asking the tour guide where the Camel's were and Quinn was giving us instructions on what to do. I have to say, this has to be one of the coolest things we have ever done with the kids. We got there for the first ride, so the animals were hungry. And as you can see from the pictures, the animals come right up to the train and eat from your cup. It is really cool and I highly recommend it.

Thanks again Phil & Georgina for a great weekend!

Doesn't She Look Thrilled?

They painted the turkey's in Addison's MDO class and the teacher's put a picture in. The look is classic.
In other news... Addison is really starting to know her colors. Up until today if you asked her what color something was she would say green without even looking at it. Today I asked her what color her shirt was and she looked down and said purple.... and it was! Of course, knowing her colors has it's drawbacks... like tonight at dinner when Regan had the only brown spoon that we have and Addison wanted a brown one. Because if Sissy has it, it must be good.

The Turkeys were a big hit!

Addison's Favorite Song

Hands down.... Bah, Bah Black Sheep. She always asks to listen to it in the car. If I put on a song before I get to it she says... That not Bah, Bah Black Sheep.

Craftiness

My crafty friend has decided to take pity on me and invite my crafty daughter and I over for crafts. Since I am so not crafty. And she has a little boy who loves baseball and Matt likes to throw the ball with him. Yesterday we went over to their house and did Turkey crafts. And then we decided to make Turkey treats for the kids classes. They came over here since Matt was going to be at softball practice and we could do it while Addison took a nap.

Play Date

We went to a Play Date at Addison's school on Friday. She wasn't to sure about going to play at school, but she had fun.

Addison's ENT Visit

Well, Addison was a very big girl at her ENT visit. She let them look her over and she did not shed one tear. She did say Mommy nervously a couple of times. They said that her left ear drum is only a little retracted and her right tube is holding on by some wax and a prayer. They are putting her on a nasal steroid and an antihistamine to try to get the ear drum to go back to normal by itself. Otherwise we will have to put tubes back in. Cross your fingers for no tubes.

New Drawings

Sorry there are so many at once. I have been meaning to scan them in for a while and haven't had a chance.

Princess with a Pumpkin

Cowgirl

Cinderella

The Little Mermaid

Duck

Cute

Addison's newest favorite thing to do is walk around with Regan's indestructible fisher price camera and say "smile." She continues to say this until you say "cheese." Then she says "That was a good one" whether she took a picture or not.

Great Day

I hope I'm not jinxing it, but Addison had a great day at school today. They said she didn't cry at all. Not even when they went outside. Hopefully, it will be good from here on out.

Bounce House Birthday Party

We traveled to Mandeville for a birthday party. It was at a place that has a bunch of fun jumps. The girls love fun jumps, so they had a lot of fun. Matt and I are exhausted!

Football Fan

Addison likes to watch football with Matt. She likes to say "He runnin" "He fall down."

Football Themed Birthday Party

We went to a birthday party today and it was so cute. They made goal posts out of pvc pipe and the boys played football. They had a concessions stand where the kids gave tickets for their food. It was very creative, and way more than I could ever think up for my kids party. The "teams" were OU vs. LSU. They had t-shirts with OU on one side and LSU on the other. The parents are from Oklahoma. Of course, all of the kids had their t-shirts on the LSU side. I refuse to buy Regan an LSU cheerleading uniform (on principle), so she had a Saints cheerleading uniform.
Update on my camera: They have to send it off to see if they can fix. My mom very nicely let me borrow Ron's camera until then.

Addison's Doctor Visit

Addison has had a cough for a while. Since both of my kids have allergies, I didn't think that much of it. However, it started to get worse and then she had a fever. So, I kept her home from school on Thursday and took her to the doctor. She tolerated the medical assistant who asked questions, listened to her and took her temperature. But she started crying the minute the doctor walked in the room. I think she is still holding a grudge from the flu shot. Luckily she is getting to the age where I can somewhat reason with her and she will tolerate most things if you tell her that we are almost done. She will keep asking you if you are almost done, but she tolerates it. She cried through most of him listening to her lungs, but had calmed down by the time he was going to look in her ears and at her throat. She even let him look at her throat without him having to hold her tongue down with a stick. Which is a very big deal. Her left ear has fluid and is still retracted. She is now on antibiotics and I have made an appointment with her ENT. I'm pretty sure we will be having to have the left tube put back in. Nevertheless, she was feeling better today. But was still a little cranky.

Park

We took the girls to the park today. We went to the one without ducks, but Regan was excited because it's close to McDonalds. So, we got McDonalds for a picnic. The other day Addison was sliding by herself fine. The reason that I wanted to go to this park is that it has slides that she can slide on by herself. But, of course, today she didn't want to. She did want to swing on the big girl swings, though. Two year olds!

The bad news is, I dropped my camera and now it is not working. I think it is something with the shutter, and I am hoping that it can be fixed. But I am not holding out much hope. I wanted a new fancy camera for Christmas, anyway. But I was hoping to still have my smaller camera to keep in my purse. I'm taking it to the repair shop tomorrow. We'll see. In any case, these are the last pictures for a while.

Birthday Party

We went to a birthday party at the Children's Museum on Saturday. I am embarrassed to say that the last time we were there was for a birthday party. I used to take Regan all of the time, but I never think about it anymore. I really need to take Addison more, because she had a really good time. She particularly liked the bubbles. Matt would make one for her and she would pop it. The second picture is of her right after she popped a bubble. She also liked the restaurant. Regan, of course, liked making the craft. She also really liked the bubbles. Both girls had a lot of fun. The funniest thing was when they were having pizza and cake. The worker that was handing out the food didn't want to give Addison any food. She asked me if she would eat pizza. I felt like saying... yes, she will but her 4 year old sister won't. Then Addison was waiting patiently for her cake. The woman literally passed her over for cake. Now Addison's love for sugar is well documented. Finally, the woman must have noticed me giving her the eye and asked me if I wanted one with no icing. Again, I wanted to say to her... I don't care. It washes out. Just give her a piece before she hyperventilates. Luckily, Addison was pretty patient. Probably because there were a lot of people around. If we had been at home she would have been yelling that she wanted cake over and over. The teacher at school on Thursday told me that they had some extra gummies so they opened them to share between the kids. She said Addison was yelling for more. Yep. That's my girl.

p.s. Pay no attention to the fact that Addison's outfit is monogrammed wrong. The first time she wore it Matt asked me why it was monogrammed wrong. Thinking that men know nothing of these things, I explained to him in a somewhat exasperated way that they put the last initial in the middle. He says to me; I know that, Maggie, but her middle name is not Virginia. I don't know how it happened. All I know is I have a hard enough time keeping their birthdays straight. And now that it's done she is going to wear it anyway.
