Addison's 2 year well visit
Addison's 2 year old well visit went really well. She was a very big girl and let them examine her without crying. It was also nice to answer yes to all of the questions and for her to be ahead of all of the answers. They wanted to know if she was speaking in two word sentences. She speaks in 5 -6 word sentences. They also wanted to know if she had at least a 20 word vocabulary. I'm not exactly sure how many words are in her vocabulary, but it is a lot more than 20. They also asked about physical stuff like walking up steps, jumping, throwing a ball, kicking a ball. I told them she doesn't actually come off the ground when she jumps, but they seemed satisfied with the fact that she does try to jump.
She has grown. They did not give me her head circumference on her sheet. I think they said it was something like 20 + inches, but don't quote me on that. It was so big that the doctor measured it himself (after the nurse had already measured it) and he actually came up with a bigger number. Her head is over 97% which means it is off the charts. Her head has always been big and Regan's head is big, so it's not a cause for concern.
Her other measurements are these:
Height: 34.25
Weight: 25 lb. 8 0z
He said that her right ear looks good, but it has a residual hole in it from where the tube was. He said it's not cause for concern, yet. But it definitely needs to be monitored and if it doesn't close up on it's own, we will need to go in and put a patch over it. But she won't need a tube in that ear, because the hole does the same thing that the tube would do. She will probably need another tube in the left ear, because it still has fluid in it. Even though the fluid is not infected, it causes her hearing to be muffled in that ear.... which, of course, is not good for learning to talk. We go to the ENT next week for a follow up visit, so I will discuss all of this with them.

Snow
We had snow here today. Regan was very excited to have snow, but didn't show much interest in playing in it. I took her outside to take some pictures and after a few minutes outside she said that's enough and wanted to go outside. She doesn't like being cold, so I don't think snow is for her. Good thing she lives in the South! She still had school today, which was another reason that she didn't really play in it. I thought she might be one of the only ones at school today, but her teacher said that only one person was absent. Addison stayed home. Sue is here to help me, because we have a lot going on this week and Matt was out of town for the past two days. So, we decided that Addison should just stay home today.

Regan's Christmas Program
Regan, who never met a stage she didn't like, was not to keen on performing this morning. I was a little concerned, but it turns out it was just a touch of stage fright. As you can see from the pictures, she had no problem performing. She was a snow flake. It was a really cute performance. I ordered the dvd and when it comes in I will try to upload it to the blog. I'm not making any promises, though. The funniest part of the show was one of Regan's classmates told his dad that he didn't want to do the "silly dance moves" in one paticular song. So, for that entire song he put his santa hat down over his eyes and stood there. He performed all of the other songs, but had a problem with that one for some reason. Please note the little boy to the left in picture number two.

Addison = Not a Push Over
Addison just cannot decide if she wants to be a baby or a big girl. Today when I was trying to get everything packed to come back home, she decided that she wanted baby food. I kept telling her that she couldn't have it right then, because it was time to leave. Regan came in and tried telling her that she couldn't have it and she said... "don't say that to me, Regan!"
She also likes to tell us that food is spicy when she doesn't want to eat it. Last night, after eating a good amount of broccoli that day, she tried to tell me that the broccoli was spicy. I think she was getting full. I told her that it was not spicy and she said... "yes it is."

Addison's ENT Visit
We went to the ENT yesterday. Addison had been up the night before every two hours with a cough and she woke up with a low grade fever. She never gets up that much, so after conferring with a friend.... I decided it would be best to take her to the doctor. I always second guess myself about going to the doctor when they don't seem "really" sick. Thank goodness I did. Her right ear tube had fallen out and was hanging out in her ear and their was infected fluid behind it. They took the tube out and gave her lots of drugs and she seems to be doing A LOT better. She slept all night last night and only had one coughing fit. I'm pretty sure that next time we go back they are going to tell us that we need to put her ear tubes back in. Which is fine with me.

Chik fi le Playdate
Addison and I met friends for a playdate and lunch today after chapel. We got there before our friends, and Addison made a new friend. I am sure that it is shocking to anyone who knows me to think that I would get anywhere early. But since I am already up getting Regan ready for school, I tend to get everywhere early or at the very least on time. It has taken some getting used to, but I'm sure my friends appreciate it.
In other news.... we all have a cough and Addison has a stuffy nose. She keeps telling me that her nose hurts. I feel bad for her, and I hope it clears up soon.

Don't get used to this
I realize that I have been posting a lot, but it is just because I have a new toy and I am practicing. I am sure that I will tire of it eventually, and I will go back to posting a normal amount. So, don't get used to this. : ) Lucky for you guys, my children never tire of having their picture taken, so as long as I am willing they are.
The girls insisted that we go outside today even though it was freezing (by Southern standards, that is) today. They wanted to ride their bikes (or be pushed in a push car. Whatever the case may be), but I talked them into playing in the back yard. As our neighbors were smart enough to stay inside today.

Future Costume Designer?
Regan got a "design your own" costume for her birthday and we just got around to doing it yesterday. Mostly because we can only do it when Addison is not around and with Regan being in school every day and busy weekends.... it doesn't leave us a lot of time for things like that. Anyway, we did yesterday while Addison was napping and I think she did a good job with it. She put it on this morning and next thing I know Addison (who wants to be just like her sister) was bringing me the sleeping beauty costume. I convinced her to put on the one she has in the picture, because it is a little less cumbersome for someone her age. Luckily she is easier to convince than her sister is. About that, at least.
In other news... Addison is about to drive us crazy with the nooney. She does not take one, but lately has insisted on having one. I think because she sees some of her friends with them. But also because she loves babies. And she loves my neighbor's baby in particular and my neighbor's baby is still at the age when she has a nooney a lot, so I think Addison must think nooney's are cool. We do make her take it out of her mouth when she talks to us, but we would rather her not have it at all.
